Can we use an external element for family planning?

Answer:

When both husband and wife want to have birth control due to a reasonable basis, then they may use any contraceptive measures, internally or externally. However, sterilizations which permanently deprive a male or female of reproductive ability are not allowed, but only when expert doctor declares that pregnancy can cause woman’s death. And Allah knows the Best!
